The Nightingale and Rose

The plot of the story.

This short story tells the tale of a student who has fallen in love with a girl. The girl says that
he must bring her a red rose or she won't dance with him at an upcoming ball. Unfortunately,
the student has many flowers in his garden but not a single one of them is a red rose.
A nightingale eavesdrops the student crying because the Nightingale loves him and the
Nightingale immediately begins searching for a red rose. Eventually, she finds a red rose
tree, but it will not produce a single flower unless the nightingale sings her song all night and
then pierces her heart on one of its thorns. The nightingale is initially reluctant: she does not
want to kill herself, but she loves the student so much that she decides that this is a sacrifice
worth making
Thenightingale's death produces a red rose and the student is very happy when he sees it
in the garden. He takes it to the girl, but she dismisses him because the rose does not match
her dress. Furthermore, she is now being courted by the chamberlain's nephew, who has sent
her expensive jewels. The student is angry and leaves the ball. In the final scene of the story,
he declares love a "silly thing" and returns to his books.

THE NIGHTINGALE SUMMERY

The student wanted the red rose as his beloved, the professor’s daughter, had promised to dance with him the ball given by the prince the next day. The Rose tree was unable to give a red rose because as the frost had killed its buds and the storm had broken its branches and the winter had chilled its veins leaving it without any rose to the rest of the year. The only way by which a red rose could be obtained is for that the nightingale had to build the rose by its music. All night long he had to sing to the tree with its breast against a thorn and stain the rose with its own heart's blood in the moonlit night and the rose should be made before dawn.

When the student heard the song of the Nightingale which it sang to the oak tree, the student commented that the nightingales existence and the melody in its voice could not be denied but he thought those things could not contribute to any practical good or the nightingale would not sacrifice its life for others. Because the student thought that all arts are selfish.
The nightingale after asking two rose trees, a yellow rose tree, a white rose tree respectively, finally came to the red rose tree which at once declined to give a red rose as the frost had killed its buds and the storm had broken its branches and the winter had chilled its veins leaving it without any rose for the rest of the year. The nightingale was eager to do anything for the red rose to make love triumphant. So it agreed to the cruel condition of the red rose tree, and all night long it sang to the tree with its breast against a thorn and built a beautiful rose tree with its music and stained it with his Own heart's blood. The nightingale died, leaving behind the reddest rose on earth for the Student.
The student was very enthusiastic when he got it but as his beloved frowned to his offer commenting that the jewellery presented to her by the Chamberlain's nephew were more precious to her than the red rose, the rose was of no use to her after all. So he threw it away into the dart where a cart wheel went over it.
In the story “The Nightingale and TheRose   by Oscar Wilde ,the nightingale was deeply moved by the student's passion towards love and his desire for a red rose in order to dance with his lady-love. Getting that red rose was almost impossible as for that the nightingale had to build the rose by its musi All night long he had to sing to the tree with its breast against a thorn and stain the rose with its own heart's blood in the. Moonlit night and the rose should be made before dawn. B the little bird even agreed to sacrifice its life to prove that love is above all mortal things and its songs to the rose tree described that..From the nightingale's part it proved that, though its effort went in vain as the two lovers, the student and the professor's daughter were yet to understand the real significance of love in life.
